Industrial Valve Supply

Valve Operating Mechanisms
Multi-Turn Valves
These valves operate using a threaded or piston mechanism. As the handwheel is turned, an internal component such as a disc, plug, or diaphragm moves into or out of the flow path. They withstand pressure differentials and provide controlled opening and closing speeds.
Quarter-Turn Valves
These valves open and close with a 90-degree movement of the handle. They are preferred in applications requiring rapid opening and closing rather than precise flow adjustment.
Valve Actuation Methods
Manual Valves: Operated directly by personnel using a handwheel, lever, gear, or chain mechanism.
Actuated Valves: Equipped with electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, or solenoid actuators for automatic or remote operation.
Automatic Valves: Respond automatically to system conditions without requiring external control. Check valves and pressure relief valves fall into this category.
Valve Types
Below are the main valve types supplied by SAPRA and their application areas:

1. Ball Valve
Operates using a rotating spherical element and a fast 90-degree actuation mechanism. Its simple and reliable shut-off performance, combined with ease of operation, makes it widely used throughout industry.

2. Butterfly Valve
Its compact and lightweight design makes it an ideal solution where installation space is limited. Its wafer-type design enables fast operation and offers multiple configuration options.

3. Check Valve
These valves prevent reverse flow and generally operate automatically. They open when the fluid flows in the correct direction and close automatically when the flow reverses.

4. Gate Valve
Uses linear motion to fully start or stop flow. It is not intended for throttling and is used only in fully open or fully closed positions.

5. Knife Gate Valve
Designed for media containing suspended solids. Its thin, sharp gate cuts through slurry or fibrous materials. It is widely used in wastewater, pulp, and sludge handling systems.

6. Globe Valve
Used for flow modulation and control. Available in various body configurations including T-pattern, Y-pattern, and angle-pattern designs.

7. Needle Valve
Used in small-diameter pipelines where precise, fine flow adjustment is required. The tapered needle-shaped disc provides exceptionally accurate flow control.

8. Pinch Valve
Suitable for slurries and fluids containing solid particles. Flow is controlled by compressing a flexible internal sleeve, isolating the process medium from the valve components.

9. Plug Valve
Operates with a quarter-turn movement using cylindrical or tapered plugs. It provides tight shut-off performance and performs effectively in high-temperature and high-pressure environments.

10. Pressure Relief Valve
Safety devices that automatically relieve excess pressure through a spring-loaded mechanism. They protect equipment and piping systems against overpressure.
